The Commons

Broad-based local knowledge combined with systemic understanding and useful tools provides a clear path to relational impact.

A nonprofit community-facing media umbrella, The Commons operates under Here Foundation, our 501(c)(3) organization. It is a relational publishing and commerce medium. In the vein of the Whole Earth catalog it provides "access to relational tools," amplifies the importance of what we call mutual-intelligence and builds commons-based, nonhierarchical community.

Built on Ghost CMS, The Commons, along with Open Knowledge and Facets, forms a commons-centered media ecosystem that supports open, cross-domain, relational knowledge and publishing activities.

Open Knowledge

Open Knowledge: Open Knowledge is a cross-disciplinary human-ai learning environment. Through applied, local and remote learning people gain meta-cognitive skills, comfort with conversational design, and learn to create and to plan using purpose-specific AIs. Skill-development focuses on practical and creative collaboration with AI as an understated, design-thinking practice. From writing, to creative idea generation and exploration, to coding, Open Knowledge offers practical tools to accelerate local-focus, relatonal knowledge and impact.

Facets

Facets is a mobile and web application that enables people to easily create, discover, use and share indexes of knowledge relationships across open access academic publications. Facets are shareable relational graphs of cross-domain article relationships in an icon-based UI. Facets is designed to transform academic research horizontally and vertically; it lowers cross-domain research barriers and streamlines academic-to-public dissemination. In the process, Facets accelerates academc and public relational knowledge access, increase academic publication exposure and facilitates downstream publishing/commerce. Facets is an innovative tech business that applies relationality on a community level.
